Digital Centre Mirror (DCM)

Don’t miss a thing. Connected to a camera mounted at the rear of the vehicle, the centre mirror can switch to display an unobstructed and wider-angle view behind the car. It can also provide a clearer image at night, where visibility through the rear is not ideal.

Digital Centre Mirror (DCM)

Compact Digital Side Mirrors (DSM)

Stay in tune with your surroundings. Traditional side mirrors can switch to 7-inch OLED monitors displaying the view from side cameras, providing a wider-angle view. The IONIQ 9’s optional DSM system improves on previous iterations by having the cameras mounted closer to the body of the car and having the monitors along the normal sightlines of traditional side mirrors.

Safety that thinks ahead.

The IONIQ 9 incorporates the latest high-tech innovations with Hyundai SmartSenseTM[P1]—our suite of safety features that intuitively detect what’s in front, behind and beside you. You’ve never felt peace of mind like this.

Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM)

Signalling left or right with the IONIQ 9’s indicators will activate the Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM). This safety system can see cars travelling in rear blind spots and projects real-time video onto the 10.25” digital instrument cluster, giving you a more complete driving picture to respond to.

Surround View Monitor (SVM) with 3D view function

This multi-camera parking safety system generates a 360-degree bird’s eye view around your IONIQ 9 from various viewpoints, including top, front, rear, left and right, displaying them on your 12.5” multimedia touchscreen to assist you in successfully manoeuvring tight parking situations.

Parking Collision-Avoidance-Rear (PCA-R)

When you are slowly reversing the IONIQ 9, such as in a garage or parking spot, and the PCA-R system anticipates a collision with an obstacle, the system warns the driver with visual, audible, and haptic warnings while engaging the vehicle’s emergency brakes to help prevent the collision.

Driver Attention Warning (DAW)

Driver Attention Warning (DAW) analyses your driving behaviours over time. If it notices signs of fatigue or recognises you’ve been driving continuously for an extended period, pop-up messages and audible warnings will suggest you take a break.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning (FCA-JT)

Turning into oncoming traffic at a road junction is made safer with the FCA front camera/radar system. As soon as your IONIQ 9’s indicator is turned on, the system is designed to detect oncoming obstacles like vehicles, cyclists and motorbikes, and alert you to take extra care. If the system detects that danger is imminent, it applies emergency braking to avoid an impact.

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA)

Like a second set of eyes, this system uses radar sensors in the rear bumper to look out for vehicles in the driver’s rear blind spot. When BCA detects a vehicle in those blind spots, it provides audible alerts and can automatically assist with braking, to help keep you out of harm’s way.

High Beam Assist (HBA)

This courteous and convenient feature scans the road ahead for approaching headlights, then automatically adjusts your lights to low beam, then back to high when there’s no oncoming headlights.

Lane Following Assist (LFA)

LFA uses the IONIQ 9’s front windshield-mounted camera to detect lane markers and preceding traffic on the road and provides steering assistance to help you stay safely centred in your lane while driving.

Lane Keeping Assist – Line/Road-Edge (LKA-L/R)

This steering-assist function detects lane markings on the road to monitor your position in a lane. Should you stray from a lane without activating your indicators, an audible and visual warning will be sounded, and under certain conditions, steering intervention will activate to help you in your lane.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA)

When backing out from a parking spot, RCCA detects vehicles approaching from the left or right. The sensor will issue an audible alert and visual warning on the dashboard and, if necessary, will initiate a braking manoeuvre.

Rear Occupant Alert (ROA)

This system monitors the opening and closing of the IONIQ 9’s rear doors to help make sure no people or items are accidentally left behind inside. When the driver stops the engine and opens their door to exit, ROA will display a “check rear seats” alert message in the instrument cluster.

Safe Exit Warning (SEW)

When a passenger tries to open a door, this system detects oncoming vehicles approaching from the rear and alerts the driver that it may be dangerous for passengers to exit the IONIQ 9, with both a sound and a pop-up visual warning appearing on the dashboard.
