Hyundai SmartSense®

The all-electric IONIQ 5 incorporates the latest high-tech innovations with Hyundai SmartSense®[DA2] safety features to take your electric driving experience to new heights, without compromising safety. 

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA)

Like a second set of eyes, this system uses radar sensors in the rear bumper to look out for vehicles in your rear blind spot, providing audible alerts and haptic steering wheel vibration.

Lane Following Assist (LFA)

LFA uses the IONIQ 5’s front windshield-mounted camera to detect lane markers and preceding traffic on the road and provides steering assistance to help you stay safely centred in your lane while driving.

Safe Exit Assist (SEA)

​​​SEA helps avoid collisions with a rear-side vehicle when exiting. If an approaching car is detected from the rear side as you open your door, SEA provides a warning. SEA also helps keep the rear door closed through the electronic child lock.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 (FCA2)

​​​Designed to reduce the risk of collision by detecting and monitoring vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. If the preceding vehicle suddenly slows down, or if a forward collision risk is detected, FCA provides a warning and will assist with emergency braking or avoidance steering if needed. Also included: Car, Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, Junction Turning, Junction Crossing, Lane-Change Oncoming, Lane-Change Side, High Beam Assist and Evasive Steering Assist functions.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA)

When backing out from a parking spot, RCCA detects vehicles approaching from the left or right. The sensor issues an audible alert and visual warning on the dashboard and, if necessary, initiates a braking manoeuvre.

Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA-R)

When you’re slowly reversing your IONIQ 5 and the PCA-R anticipates a collision with an obstacle, the system warns you with visual and audible alarms while engaging the emergency brakes to prevent the collision.

Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM)

​​​BVM displays a video of your blind-spot view for a safer lane change. When operating your turn signal, BVM displays video on the 12.3” digital instrument cluster of the blind-spot view for the direction indicated.

Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA2)

​​​Imagine coming back to your car and finding two cars parked so close that you can’t open your doors to get in. With RSPA, you can remotely park or exit a parking spot from outside the vehicle. Press and hold the Forward or Backward button on the smart key, and watch your IONIQ 5 drive itself straight out of that tight spot.

[P6] Eco-processed leather uses flaxseed oil extract in the dyeing process instead of animal and fish oil. Expected effect is biochemical oxygen (BOD) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) reduction in wastewater from leather manufacturing process, residual flaxseed oil is biodegradable.

[H1] 7 Year Unlimited Km Warranty

In addition to the 5 Year Standard New Car Warranty, Hyundai provides an extended warranty for up to a further 2 years, when all servicing is with Hyundai, on passenger vehicles first registered from June 1, 2025. Maximum warranty is 7 years from date of first registration, on the condition that all scheduled services are completed within the specified service intervals at an authorised Hyundai dealer. Otherwise, the standard 5 year unlimited km warranty (from the date of first registration) applies. Service conditions apply. Excludes Hybrid & EV drive batteries, which are warranted for 8 years / 160,000km (whichever occurs first) from the date of first registration. Does not apply if the vehicle is used at any time during the warranty period used for a “commercial application” as defined in the warranty policy, which includes use as a taxi, hire, ride-share, rental, courier, delivery, security, driving school, tour, bus operator or emergency vehicle, or any other use in the course of trade for the purpose of carrying passengers or goods. Passenger vehicles used for a commercial application are provided with a 5 year/130,000km warranty (whichever occurs first). People Mover Vans used for a commercial application are provided with a 5 year/160,000km warranty (whichever occurs first). [H3] Premium Roadside Support Plan

12 months included Premium Roadside Support when you buy a new Hyundai internal combustion engine or hybrid vehicle from a participating authorised Hyundai Dealer. For purchases from a participating authorised Hyundai Dealer of new Hyundai battery electric vehicle Hyundai offers 24 months included Premium Roadside Support. Premium Roadside Support commences from the date of the vehicle’s warranty commencement. 

When you have your Hyundai internal combustion engine or hybrid vehicle’s scheduled service completed at a participating authorised Hyundai Dealer, you will receive 12 months of included Premium Roadside Support from the date of service. For Hyundai battery electric vehicles, that have their scheduled service completed at a participating authorised Hyundai Dealer, you will receive 24 months of included Premium Roadside Support from the date of service. [H4] Sat Nav Update Plan

Applies to new Hyundai vehicles with both 8” and 10.25” factory-fitted satellite navigation. Updates are delivered annually and are included if the vehicle completes a scheduled service at an authorised Hyundai Dealer. Updates must be undertaken within 10 years of the vehicle’s first registration date, with a maximum number of 9 updates.
