The electric advantage.

As Australia’s charging infrastructure grows, Hyundai is there to support your drive and reduce your running costs when it matters most.

Scheduled charging.
Take advantage of cheaper off-peak electricity rates by simply plugging in and scheduling your preferred charging times through the multimedia touchscreen to manage your charge times and budget.
Lower servicing costs.
The Kona Electric does not have a petrol motor, meaning fewer moving parts for servicing - saving you money at the mechanic and more time on the road.
Regenerative braking.
Take control of the level of regenerative braking with the paddle shifters on the steering wheel. It allows you to recharge the battery using kinetic energy captured when the car is coasting or brakes are applied, increasing energy efficiency to help extend your driving range.

Calculate your savings.

Calculate the projected running costs of your Kona Electric, and see the positive change it can make on your wallet.

Enjoy the benefits of a Kona Electric.

The Kona Electric is the head of its class. As the first 100% electric small SUV, it delivers a staggering 449km[R1] range and produces zero emissions. This means that you not only save money but you don't have to worry about charging it so often.

Smart_Cruise_Control_Icon.svg

Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go.

SCC utilises the front radar sensor to detect the speed and distance of vehicles in front of the Kona Electric. SCC then automatically maintains a safe distance to the vehicle ahead, up to a pre-set speed set by the driver (between 30km/h – 180km/h).

The Stop & Go function allows SCC to work in stop/start traffic, bringing the vehicle to a complete stop when appropriate, and automatically (if within 3 seconds) accelerate back up to the original set speed. If the vehicle is stationary for over 3 seconds, SCC w/ Stop & Go will prompt the driver to continue cruise conditions via the steering wheel controls.

Driver_Attention_Warning_Icon.svg

Driver Attention Warning (DAW).

At speeds of 64km/h and above, Driver Attention Warning (DAW) uses the windshield-mounted camera to continually monitor the Kona Electric’s position in a lane, while also tracking steering, brake pedal use, and time since your last break. When a pattern of fatigue or distraction is identified, the system gets your attention with an alert plus a pop-up message suggesting you take a rest stop.
Blindspot_Collision_Avoidance_Assist_Icon.svg

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist.

At speeds of 20km/h or above, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) uses radar sensors on either side of the rear bumper to detect vehicles next to and diagonally behind the Kona Electric. If a vehicle is present in its blind spot, a visual alert is displayed in the exterior mirrors. If the driver proceeds to activate the corresponding indicator lights, a flashing visual warning is provided and an audible alert is sounded.

Additionally, the system also scans for vehicles approaching rapidly from the rear, and uses the same warning measures to alert the driver of vehicles which may be entering the Kona Electric’s blind spot at a faster speed.

Forward_Collision-Avoidance_Assist_Icon.svg

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA).

Sensing the road ahead with radar and a camera, FCA warns you and then automatically brakes when it detects sudden braking by a vehicle ahead. The system also detects pedestrians and cyclists.
Lane_Keeping_Assist_Icon.svg

Lane Keeping Assist (LKA).

LKA provides steering intervention to assist the Kona Electric to stay in the centre of its lane. If it strays from its intended lane without any indicators being activated, an audible and visual warning will be sounded.
Rear_Cross-Traffic_Collision-Avoidance_Assist_Icon.svg

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA).

Using the BCA system’s radar sensors, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) monitors for traffic approaching on either side of the Kona Electric when reversing out of perpendicular parking spaces at speeds of up to 8km/h. Should RCCA detect a vehicle approaching, an audible warning will sound, with a visual warning displayed on the dash cluster.

In the case that the driver does not adhere to the warning, RCCA may apply braking force to help avoid a collision with the approaching vehicle. RCCW is capable of providing the same audible and visual warnings as RCCA but is unable to apply partial braking to help avoid a collision.

High_Beam_Assist_Icon.svg

Rear-view camera with rear parking sensors.

The rear-view camera not only provides you with a clear view of the space directly behind the Kona Electric, it also displays dynamic parking guidelines on your screen, which swivel as you turn the steering wheel to help you reverse or park.

Charging to fit your lifestyle.

Enjoy the flexibility that comes with an electric vehicle and recharge at home, at work or at one of the expanding network of charging stations while you’re out and about. Take advantage of off-peak charging times to increase savings and ensure your Kona Electric is ready to go when you are.

DC fast charging station.
The Kona Electric is capable of utilising a commercial DC fast charging station with a maximum charging capacity of 100kW. It can recharge to 80% in 54 minutes when connected to a 100kW DC station or in 75 minutes when connected to a 50kW station. You can use your multimedia touchscreen to find sat nav directions to the nearest DC fast charging station[C1].
*[C1] The Kona Electric can recharge to 80% in 54 minutes when connected to a 100kW DC charging station or in 75 minutes when connected to a 50kW charging station. Charging times may increase if peak charging rates are not achieved.
Emergency charging cable.
Every Kona Electric comes with an In-Cable Control Box (ICCB). This emergency cable can be used to charge the car from a regular household 240V AC 3-prong power outlet, taking approximately 28 hours for a full charge[C3].
*[C3] Only use the charging cable that is suitable for your electric vehicle. Charging times may increase if peak charging rates are not achieved. The manufacturer takes no responsibility for defects associated with a faulty charging unit or vehicle. Suitable for use indoors. Suitable for use and outdoors, including in light rain conditions. Not suitable for use in other rain conditions. Do not submerge in water. Do not allow minors to operate. Please check compatibility with the supplier before using.
Off-peak charging.
Easily schedule your Kona Electric to charge at off-peak times through the multimedia touchscreen settings. Simply set the start and finish time so your car is ready when you need it.

For convenience, LEDs beside the charge port show the battery status. The light surrounding the port turns green when it’s charging and white when fully charged.
