Tuned for Australia.

Hit the road and beyond knowing your suspension and steering are carefully engineered to suit our unique roads, terrains and driving conditions.

Engineered using local knowledge.

Whether a Hyundai vehicle has had its suspension, steering and handling tuned locally or overseas, you can be sure it’s been engineered to suit the challenging conditions Australian roads are renowned for.

Australian roads are unique.

From the bitumen to the bush and everything in between, Australian drivers experience a variety of road conditions as part of their daily commute. It is for this reason that we see importance in tuning our vehicles to our local conditions. After all, a vehicle that’s been customised to our surfaces and terrain provides a smoother, safer and superior drive every time.

Our cars are localised.

Prior to the release of a new model, our Australian specialists receive prototype models, which are extensively tested and refined in partnership with technicians and engineers globally. Only after this testing and comprehensive refinement to deliver comfortable body control, tyre contact, handling, safety and more, do our cars go into production for Australia.

The experts.

Our specialist team locally and abroad seek to deliver vehicles that are refined and fine-tuned to satisfy the preferences of our customers. We take pride in our customers knowing they're in a safer, more enjoyable and more comfortable car on the road.

"It's not something all customers are able to pinpoint, but when a car has quality tuning and suspension, they'll say: It's a nice car, nice to drive, and that alone will be the measure of success for us."

A. Tuitahi, Head of Product Planning, Australia.

The testing process.

A collaboration between engineers, technicians, product planners and test drivers which involves global and local teams working together to deliver the most comfortable and dynamic driving experience. It’s a journey that starts with pre-production vehicles abroad and ends with dynamic tuned vehicles locally.

A prototype is announced.
As new vehicles are prototyped by global teams, our local teams are invited to take part in geometry analysis, computer simulations and consulting at our research and development centre in Korea.
Local market defines its needs.
A clear set of needs and customisations are defined at the completion of testing with comfort and safety being at the core of all the enhancements. These customisations are supplied as specifications to global, to commence production.
Pre-production vehicle is supplied.
What was a prototype, soon becomes a pre-production vehicle which is shipped to Australia to commence the localisation process. This can include spring and roll bar design, telemetry, iterative damper testing and package definitions.
Production vehicles arrive.
Once production starts, the vehicles are shipped to Australia and become available at dealerships nationally. All the simulation data gathered is logged and stored in our database of learning that can be applied to the next Hyundai vehicle.
