Hyundai Help for Kids delivers a weekend of wonder in the West.
Saturday: Captains, Canines and Characters.
The weekend kicked off on Saturday afternoon at Trinity College, where special guests from Assistance Dogs Australia were invited to attend Carlton FC’s exclusive Captain’s Run. The energy was high as players went through their final preparations before game day, and the vibe turned truly special as the team took time out to interact with the families and their incredible assistance dogs. There were smiles all around as kids chatted with players, posed for photos and collected treasured autographs.
From there, the magic continued just a few hours later as Hyundai Help for Kids hosted guests from Football Futures Foundation for the Disney on Ice spectacular at RAC Arena. With support from HMCA Western Region, children and families were treated to premium seating and hospitality in the Hyundai Corporate Suite, where squeals of delight echoed throughout the arena. For many, it was their first live show and an experience they’ll never forget.
Sunday: Goals, Glory and Giving Back.
Match day arrived on Sunday with a wave of excitement, culminating in our signature ‘Kicking Goals for Kids’ experience. VIP guests were welcomed onto the field at Optus Stadium, forming a Guard of Honour as the Carlton Blues ran out to take on the West Coast Eagles in front of over 43,000 fans.
The moment of the day came when Carlton’s two-time Coleman Medalist (AFL season leading goalkicker) Charlie Curnow enticed one of our young guests to forgo her wheelchair for a walk through the co-branded banner with the team and her loyal Assistance Dog. The stadium erupted in cheers, capturing the spirit of the weekend perfectly.
Guests then enjoyed the game from the comfort of a fully catered corporate suite, witnessing a stunning Blues victory and even more reason to celebrate.
As part of the ongoing partnership between Hyundai Help for Kids and Carlton FC, a donation of $500 per goal was pledged to Assistance Dogs Australia. Thanks to the Blues’ efforts on the field, $6,000 was donated helping to fund life-changing Assistance Dogs for children and families in need.
